Crisis Accommodation

RISE provides crisis accommodation in a refuge for women and children escaping domestic abuse.  A refuge is a confidential address where you can be safe for one night or up to six months.

To apply for refuge accommodation please call RISE on Freephone 0300 323 9985.  Alternatively, the 24-hour National Domestic Violence Helpline 0808 2000 247 can access the UK National Refuge Vacancies Database.

Staying in a Refuge

Staying in a refuge is not easy but we try our best to make the experience as positive as possible. On arrival you are given a key worker who will meet with you and draw up a support plan.  She will work with you to help find safe, permanent, accommodation.

Children in refuge

Children and young people are given special support to help them adapt to their new environment and to overcome the effects of living with domestic abuse.

Resettlement

On leaving the refuge your key worker will continue to help you move back into the community and to access support so that you can maintain a tenancy.

Housing Support

RISE can help if you are a woman living in the community, affected by domestic abuse and at risk of becoming homeless. This can include liaising with the police and local authorities to make you and your property secure.
