Receptionist and Administration Support Volunteer

The Receptionist and Administration Support Volunteerwill play an important role in providing a welcoming and efficient point of entry for people accessing RISE services. The volunteer will manage reception by answering the door to visitors and clients, greeting people and notifying the person they are visiting of their arrival. They will need to ensure that the reception area is kept tidy and free from obstructions, assist with clerical and administrative support as required across the organisation and undertake general tasks such as filing, photocopying and general office duties. There may also be some involvement in HR, fundraising, bookkeeping and other more specialist tasks as appropriate.

General duties:

  • Answering the door entry buzzer
  • Meeting and greeting people on arrival
  • Keeping communal areas and meeting rooms tidy and free from obstructions
  • Filing
  • Photocopying
  • General administration support to all teams
  • Any other duties as required and relevant to the team’s needs

Personal skills and qualities required:

  • A friendly and confident personality
  • Ability to understand the need for confidentiality
  • Ability to be flexible and work according to the needs of the team
  • At all times you will be expected to protect the safety and security of service users, staff, volunteers and that of the building and facilities
  • You will be required to protect the confidentiality of records and other information
  • Acknowledge and actively support the rights of women, children and young people who have experienced domestic violence.
