This role requires that the worker openly identifies as Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual or Transgender

The LGBT lead officer will support the development of and provide a proactive service to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Trans survivors of domestic and sexual abuse across Brighton & Hove and East Sussex on behalf of the Portal service. They will provide information, advice and support for LGBT people and children, in the Brighton & Hove and East Sussex area who have experienced domestic and/or sexual violence.


They will offer advice and consultancy on LGBT issues to staff working for all partner agencies under the Portal. They will provide public information and deliver training as required. They will maintain agreed monitoring systems ensuring accurate recording of client contacts and outputs. They will help to ensure that the service is accessible to all potential service users in and will have particular regard to the needs and safety of children and vulnerable adults with additional needs.


They will work in collaboration with the management team and colleagues across RISE to ensure that services are delivered to a high standard, that service targets and operational plans, budgetary and monitoring requirements of funders and partner agencies are met. They will also be responsible for overseeing the successful completion of monitoring, ensuring that this is carried out effectively.  


The post holder will be expected to work with members of the LGBT communities’ services and groups to ensure visibility of the service and enable referral pathways. They will also be responsible for overseeing the development and delivery of the work plan for the LGBT service.
