Event Team Volunteering for RISE 8K Undercliff Run for Women
This year's event will take place on Sunday 13th October 2024 and we will need most of our volunteers for approximately 5 - 6 hrs. You will be asked to state your preferred times.
Early start: We start setting up from 6.30am and should be finished around 1pm.
Roles on the day include marshalling the route, helping set up and take down the event infrastructure, setting up and supervising medals and water, helping staff the RISE marquee, water stations helpers, tail walker, lead cyclist and start/finish line assistance, plus a couple of supervisory roles. Some of you will be alone in your positions along the route and you are acting as our eyes and ears whilst the event takes place.
Volunteering experience is not required: If you have no volunteering experience, we will partner you up with an experienced volunteer on the day, and training or instructions will be provided.
Safety: Personnel safety is paramount to us and there are Risk Assessments in place, authorised by Brighton & Hove City Council. If necessary RISE will follow the advice of Public Health England, the World Health Organisation, and central government, to ensure the event will be Covid-safe. You can be sure we will make the event as safe as possible for our staff and volunteers and of course the participants
Refreshments: You might want to bring your own drinks (including water) and snacks and minimise personal belongings as there is non-secure storage facilities on site.
