RISE CEO Jo Gough attended two national events during the #16Days of Activism against Gender-based Violence

On Tuesday 26th November, Economic Abuse Awareness Day, Jo attended a reception in the Houses of Parliament hosted by Matthew Patrick MP on behalf of Surviving Economic Abuse (SEA). The Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls Minister, Jess Phillips, and the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, Tulip Siddiq spoke at the event. On the 5th December, Jo attended A Royal Celebration marking 50 years of Women’s Aid in her role as Vice Chair of Women’s Aid. Her Majesty The Queen spoke at the event, saying of domestic abuse, ‘I am determined to put an end to this.’ Activist and survivor Katie Piper, and key people from the central Women's Aid team and national network were also part of the event.
