“RISE have changed my life and I really encourage anyone reading this who is worried or feeling unsafe, or just confused and unsure, to call them.”
RISE operates the only local domestic abuse helpline in Brighton & Hove.
- Every year RISE helpline staff handle over 4,000 calls.
- When you call, a helpline worker will give you support, advice and information and, where appropriate, will carry out a risk assessment.
- We can direct you to other RISE services and also signpost you to other local and national agencies.
- If staff are unable to answer your call, please leave a message give your name and a contact number or email address. State clearly when it is safe to contact you.
The Helpline is staffed Monday to Friday during office hours. If you need immediate help and support call the National 24hr Helpline 0808 2000 247.
We are experiencing an unprecedented demand for our services.
To manage this, we are prioritising those in most need and at highest risk.
We are continuing to encourage anyone who is needing support to contact us and will respond as quickly as we can.
We ask for your patience if you don't hear from us as soon as you'd like.
If you are in immediate danger, call 999.
RISE is a confidential service. However, if you tell us something that makes us think you or others are not safe, or where the law requires, we will share this with other agencies (police, social services, ambulance). We will try to ask your permission and keep you informed.
