Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. This day reminds us of the positives that running can offer to our physical and mental health.
Running doesn't have to be about how fast you are. It doesn't have to be about how far you can go. It's the pleasure of knowing what your body is capable - what you are capable of. It's about being outside, feeling the weather, being part of our world, not cut off from it.
If you've been thinking about taking up running, we'd urge you to consider one of the incredible local running groups listed below. They're friendly and welcoming to all abilities and experience levels. Remember, everyone who is running today was once new to it too!
And if you're looking for a target to motivate you, why not consider our RISE 8K Undercliff Run for Women on October 8th? Even if you've never run before, you have PLENTY of time to get up to 8K by then - we promise!
This is a fun, friendly event full of sisterhood between runners old and new. Every year, women tell us how much they enjoy it, and every year the amazing women and girls who run raise thousands of pounds to support our work with people who have experienced domestic abuse. Fancy dress is optional (or should we say encouraged!)
See you in October? 🏃🏿♀️ 🏃🏻♀️🏃♀️
