Next, on Saturday 18th October, we’ll be celebrating the launch of We All R.I.S.E Up, an audiobook by survivor and uber-thriver Mary Murphy. The proceeds from the launch event and audiobook sales will be donated to RISE.
Mary says
"They [RISE] supported me when I was living with domestic violence and have supported me as I become a successful social entrepreneur, an activism poetry writer and spoken word performer.
Writing and performing poems about my experiences provides me with a very safe way to express my feelings and to reach other people, helping them to know it’s okay to speak out
I’m thrilled to have reached the point where I’m able raise funds for R.I.S.E. that will be used to help support other women and girls living with &/surviving domestic violence
Recording the audiobook has been truly healing and has helped me acknowledge that I have through my own efforts become an amazing writer and performer."
As if that wasn’t enough, we’re finalising details of our plans for the 16 Days of Activism Against gender-based violence. Running from International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on the 25th of November, to Human Rights Day on the 10th December, were planning to share inspiring stats and stories, and our RISE and Shine Weekender, from Friday 28th to Sunday 30th November, in partnership with Wild Roots Retreats will give you the chance to reset, recharge and revitalise before December lands.
Last but by no means least, we'll be running our annual Christmas Gift Giving campaign in late November, ensuring that every child we support will receives gifts this Christmas.
After that and running alongside all of this are ongoing opportunities to help.
